Howdy friend, my name is Erik. Years ago I took a coffee roasting class at the Institute of Domestic Technology. I was inspired by my good friends John & Lynelle Lawrence of Mudhouse Specialty Coffee Roasters. They have a way of doing that to people and you should definitely check out their award winning (plural) coffee because it is amazing!

I installed a small San Franciscan drum roaster in my office and fell down the rabbit hole for many years. Fast forward to the pandemic where my photography business was shut down for a bit and I had an opportunity to take my roasting more seriously. Add some professional training and a ton of roasting, research and passion and I finally had something I thought was worth sharing.

But I have a job… and I’ve been pretty lucky professionally with wonderful clients and plentiful work so it was time to figure out what coffee really meant to me. In the end I realized that, for me, coffee is a beautiful way to connect with people in our community. So I decided I would create something to raise money for organizations and charities that helped lift up our community and bring people together.

In February of 2023 I built a coffee cart and in March I launched my first fundraiser pop-up for Women’s History Month. Every Saturday and Sunday morning for the month I made drinks out in front of my house by the reservoir in Silver Lake. In June I launched another Sat/Sun pop-up in honor of Pride Month. Details for both are on the events page.

I’m currently planning my next fundraiser and I’ll make sure to post details here and on instagram @itsgood_coffee

I hope to see you there!
